Barry Lewis – Your Friendly RV Technician

Hi, I’m Barry Lewis. My love for RVing goes way back to my childhood, when my family and I camped in everything from tents to towable campers, both across the U.S. and overseas. (My dad was in the Air Force, so we moved around quite a bit.) Those early experiences sparked a lifelong passion for life on the road.

Over the years, my wife and I carried on the tradition with our own kids—camping in tents, pop-ups, and towable RVs. Once our kids were grown, we decided it was time to make life on the road a little easier, so we moved up to a Class A motorhome. We bought a 2001 Fleetwood Bounder right around the start of the pandemic—great timing, right? Like many RV owners quickly learn, there’s no shortage of things that need fixing, replacing, or upgrading. I ended up working on nearly every major appliance and system in that rig—plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigerators, water heaters—you name it.

As we traveled, we ran into a common problem: when something went wrong, finding a mobile RV tech or getting into a shop with immediate availability was often a challenge. That experience stayed with me.

Eventually, we upgraded to a 2014 Newmar Ventana. And guess what? I learned that it doesn’t matter how much you spend on an RV—there will always be repairs and maintenance to tackle. That realization pushed me to get formal training and become a certified RV technician.

These days, I help folks mostly on weekends while I wrap up my full-time career. I plan to retire in the next year or so, and when I do, I’ll be shifting my focus entirely to RV service and support.

Whether you’ve got a Class A, B, C, a schoolie, or a towable rig, I’m here to help you keep your RV comfortable, functional, and road-ready. I know how important it is to keep your home-on-wheels running smoothly—because I’ve been in your shoes.
